We all know of Cinderella’s transformation story (from basic to baddie).  But being a fashion enthusiast, it is quite disappointing how little we know about the fairy godmother’s boutique, and what other fashionable treasures she had stocked away in there. (I imagine she also dressed and styled the princess for her happily-ever-after ceremony). This is why I am SO excited to tell all who will listen, about our cove of happiness, housed in an elegantly restored 1800’s Cape Dutch building, tucked right in the heart of Cape town. Nestled in the City Bowl is The Wedding Collective’s new wedding dress boutique, featuring the latest bridal fashions for any bride-to-be who identifies as stylish, modern and daring.

Walking towards the building, one is greeted by a 3-storey structure of art; a gorgeous historic monument that reminds us of one of the many reasons we love the mother city. With its gabled façade and crisp white walls, the building captures the region’s iconic aesthetic; a true tribute to Cape Town’s architectural heritage. From the awning to the achromatic finishes- the minimalist exterior foreshadows the modern magic that defines the essence of our brand. Inside, guests are welcomed by the rich warmth of original wooden floors, which lend a touch of rustic charm to the refined setting. Every detail, from the intricate banisters to the understated lighting, has been carefully curated to build a feeling of intimacy and luxury. As one proceeds further into the foyer, the wooden stairs summon one towards the uppermost floor; this grand staircase feels almost ceremonial, an experience that mirrors the excitement and anticipation of a bride preparing to unveil her wedding-day vision.

Here, all the magic happens. Now whether brides would consider the ascension up to be a blessing (hello sculpted calves) or a bit of strenuous work-out – the great news is upon arrival; your favourite stylist promptly serves a refreshing beverage of choice. Our doors officially opened on the 1st of August this year.
