We are so excited to share with you the wedding journey of our very own Real Bride Mari, the owner of The Wedding Collective and designer of our exclusive Wishbone & Ivory wedding dress brand.

We had less than 3 months to make my wedding dress and Mari and her team went out of their way to help me. I enjoyed every fitting. They were so friendly and professional. I never had to worry about anything regarding my dress because I knew it would be perfect. I would recommend The Wedding Collective to any bride-to-be.

I was in love with my dress from the first fitting, even though it was not a final product and was clamped to my body. We made some changes and adjustments at my second fitting and at the third fitting – I did not want to take my dress off. Marie and Ora are masters of matrimony attire.

We finalised the dress design the day before the first lock down so I was a little stressed. But everything was handled perfectly – I had nothing to worry about. Everyone was so friendly and did SO MUCH extra effort to make sure everything was perfect (10/10 would always recommend – refer to picture here 😊)

From the 1st time we met Octovia each and every fitting with her was just so much fun! We loved conceptualizing a wedding dress but not “too wedding-dress” for this self proclaimed tomboy.

I absolutely fell in love with The Wedding Collective’s style of dresses on Instagram, it’s totally different from any other bridal dress shop I visited! It also looked like a cozy place to visit, and man did they exceed my expectations!

It was truly an honour and a blessing meeting Chanette and having her choose us to make her dream wedding dress. The love for life she exudes is contagious and we had many happy tears in our studio during the dressmaking process with her. Nadia was a very special bride for us to have as she worked for us as a student back in the day, and when the time came for her to start wedding dress hunting she came straight to us. Her gorgeous Bushveld wedding day was supposed to be in June 2020 but had to be postponed to December 2020 due to the pandemic. We are so glad they finally got to have their special wedding day!

I wanted something simple that I felt beautiful in but was also comfortable with. As am above-average sized bride I was very scared of feeling uncomfortable and self-conscious and I wanted a dress that highlighted all the things I love about my body instead of one that made me anxious on the day. When we decided to have a small ceremony I also wanted something I could possibly wear again to make it sustainable and environmentally friendly so I went with the two-piece and hope to make changes so I can wear it in the future.

I loved the experience. Every time I went for a fitting, I did not want to take the dress off. Marié is super friendly. She made me feel very comfortable and was extremely helpful in choosing my dress.

Our gorgeous Real Bride Mahali chose a custom designed version of our Ally wedding dress by Wisbone & Ivory. Marie welcomed us with the warmest smile and hug on our first visit. I tried on a number of dresses in different styles, shapes and colours. Marie is very open-minded and listens to your taste and preferences. She is focused and gives good advice during consultations. Because I chose my dress on the very first fitting, Marie immediately booked follow up consultations for further fittings, measurements and collection. Her admin and timing is impeccable.

I really wanted something simple yet elegant and sexy but also did not make me feel uncomfortable. When I saw my dress I had a feeling it would be perfect and when I tried it on I just knew. Marie’ also helped a lot by telling me I can add my own sequins or beading to it and then my heart just exploded.

Anmarli was one of our first brides when we opened our boutique doors in 2016, and little did we know what an amazing and ground-breaking bride she would make. She chose the most gorgeous black and nude wedding dress which set a dramatic tone for her beautiful winter wedding in the Kalahari.

Chrissie looked like a 50’s Hollywood star in her Puff Sleeve Bridal Gown on her wedding day. We created this flawless bridal look for Chrissie from our Beth by Wishbone & Ivory Wedding dress. Chrissie wanted us to add the Beth jacket sleeves directly onto the dress and wow, did it look amazing!
